Between growing up with a mother and father who each retired from the North Las Vegas Police Department and Ms. Brown’s experience as a teenage Peer Counselor in local youth court, Trial By Peers, Ms. Brown’s respect for and interest in the law developed at a very young age. While pursuing her undergraduate and law school educations, Ms. Brown also spent 12 years working in various positions, from legal secretary to law clerk, at both small and large law firms in Las Vegas. |
Alexandra McLeod
CO-VICE PRESIDENT Alexandra@nettlesmorris.com Alexandra McLeod is an associate with the firm with many years of litigation experience. She has built a reputation for working with passion and persistence on behalf of her clients and for delivering straightforward advice in every case. She is tenacious in her advocacy of insured and self-insured individuals and companies in auto accident, transportation, premises and products liability cases, and well as catastrophic injury cases of all sorts and has taken several cases to verdict. Ms. McLeod is also well-versed in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and serves as a panel member of the Clark County Court-Annexed Arbitration Program. Ms. McLeod brings a worldview to her legal practice, as the McLeods moved to Saudi Arabia and had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the Middle East, Europe, and the U.S. through her youth and college years. Having finished her undergraduate work in just three years, Ms. McLeod returned to northern California to study law at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento. There she distinguished herself as a published author in the McGeorge Law Review, and, later, as an editor of The Transnational Lawyer and a governing board member at the student-run Community Legal Services. Also while in law school, Ms. McLeod served as an extern clerk to the Honorable Judge Roger Hunt of the U.S. District Court in Las Vegas. |

A Philadelphia native, Ms. Splaine attended the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio and received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1997. Ms. Splaine then received her J.D. from Pennsylvania’s Duquesne University in 2000 and began practicing law in Philadelphia the same year. Ms. Splaine moved to Las Vegas in 2002 and has worked with LGC since 2004. Ms. Splaine practices in the area of civil litigation and is licensed in both Pennsylvania and Nevada. Ms. Splaine litigates construction defect, wrongful death, personal injury, and subrogation cases. She is also experienced in complex commercial litigation concerning closely held businesses and corporations.

Janet Merrill
DIRECTOR janetny2003@yahoo.com In 1993, she graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Behavior and Environmental Studies. Thereafter, Janet worked as a civilian Housing Management Specialist for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command in San Diego and then as a Senior Conservation Programs Analyst for the Southern Nevada Water Authority/Las Vegas Valley Water District. In 2003, Janet attended Albany Law School of Union University obtaining her Juris Doctorate with top honors and ranking. Ms. Merrill has practiced in Nevada in both State and federal courts since 2007. Janet has worked in both the private and public sectors representing a diverse array of clients in various legal matters including personal injury, real estate and banking disputes (collections, foreclosure, uniform commercial code, homeowners’ association liens), premises liability, employment discrimination, eminent domain, business torts, administrative hearings, and automobile accidents. Janet is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating by her peers for integrity and skill. Janet has two young adult children, loves to travel and hike. She enjoys shrimp tacos, barbeque chicken pizza, and sunsets on the beach. She coaches girls youth basketball and is a director of the Yale Club of Nevada. |
