The Road to Becoming a Lawyer:
The story starts when I am 7 years old. I am living in Las Vegas with my family. One day I am with my older brother, who is 11 years old. My brother looks at me and says: “Okay, when we grow up, I will be the Doctor and you will be the Lawyer.” I say “Okay”. The matter is settled as only children can agree on such a thing.
Fast forward to present day and my brother is a Doctor, working at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. I have my own personal injury law practice. My brother’s plan worked!
When it was time to go to law school, the timing couldn’t have been better. I graduated from UNLV in the late ‘90s. At the time, Nevada didn’t have a law school. So, I was looking at law schools around the country. I found out that UNLV was opening a new law school and I applied. It turns out that I was the first student on the books. In 2000, UNLV’s Boyd Law graduated its first class of 5 newly minted law students, of which I was a part.
I started out my legal career working at a family friendly insurance defense law firm. It was there that I learned about the law and how insurance companies put those injured under a microscope. I came to the realization that insurance companies treated people like numbers and believed that most people could not actually be injured in traumatic accidents.
After this soul-sapping experience, I decided it was time to open my own law office. It is such a great feeling, helping people during the most difficult times of their lives. I now focus exclusively on personal injury matters, helping those who have been injured as a result of the carelessness of others.
For me, it is an honor and privilege to be the voice from someone on their legal journey. I will make sure that when you hire me, I will guide you through the legal process. You will be well informed and taken care of along the way.
What do I do when I am not standing up to insurance companies? I have lived in Las Vegas Valley almost my entire life and I love rock climbing with my family in the beautiful desert southwest.Type your paragraph here.
Asked her biggest challenge to date and Stacy will point to raising three teenage daughters. Studying for bar exams, orchestrating divorce trials, handling depositions, or arguing with other lawyers pales in comparison to mediating disputes over daughters borrowing shoes or makeup without asking. Stacy is the founder and managing partner of Right Lawyers in Las Vegas, Nevada. For over a decade Stacy has been one of the top divorce attorneys in the area. Her ability to negotiate disputes and knack for uncovering important issues has been key to her success as a divorce attorney and mother. Stacy graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Whittier College in 1991. She went on to earn her law degree from the University of San Diego School Of Law in 1996. Stacy is admitted to practice law in the State of Nevada. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Federal District Court and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
